The Budapest Bites and Sights Walking Tour introduces you to the many delicious foods of Budapest. An English speaking guide will accompany you on this walking tour.
The adventure begins when you make your way to the main entrance of the Central Market Hall (1093 Budapest, District IX., Vámház Körút 1-3). On this culinary tour, you’ll learn Hungary’s rich food traditions and discover new trends while you get tips on where to eat and drink while in Budapest.
The food tour starts at the Central Market Hall, a city landmark that’s over 100 years old. There, we’ll taste some slices of salami and sausages, get acquainted with the history of the building and hear a brief introduction on what is eaten and how it’s eaten in Hungary.
From the Central Market Hall, we’ll walk through some of the hidden streets of downtown Budapest and taste fresh-water fish in a small local eatery. We’ll continue on for a sweet treat - chocolate bonbons from an award-winning chocolate factory in summer or Budapest’s best ice-cream in summer.
Your guide will take you to a cool vintage bar next for a refreshing spritzer and an education in Hungarian drinks. Our foodie adventure then takes us through the Jewish district, where you will admire the largest and most beautiful synagogue in Europe and enjoy a tasting of more local food. Our stops will include a lovely little fish bistro and a nice modern restaurant with a connection to the Jewish culture where we can learn about typical Jewish food and traditions.
We end our tour close to the world heritage listed Andrassy Avenue and visit a Hungarian food heaven as our final restaurant. Expect dishes available as per season. Most probably, you are likely to expect delights such as stew or chicken with paprika. Your tour ends here.
Then you will need to make your own arrangements to get back to your accommodation.
